Making Lunch Fun Again

For many of us, packing lunch for our children is the traditional last straw: when there are twenty-nine-hundred things to do in any given day, lunch can be what breaks the camel’s back. On top of that, what if your infant doesn’t even eat what you pack?
We all want our children to eat healthfully and get off on the experience, but how to do that day in and day out? Here are a few ideas to keep you and your kids happy about the lunch-packing test.
Livingston mom Marnie McNany says that she has had good good fortune with Goodbyn lunch boxes for two of her three children. These fun-to-unpack lunch boxes are like counterfeit Tupperware pieces that all tuck neatly into a larger lunch box. There is no put away, and everyday the same container can hold a new surprise. Try do-it-yourself Goodbyn: find limited reusable food storage containers in different colors and flock them into your child’s existing lunchbox.
A tried-and-true way to delegate lunch more fun is to shape-shift. Cut the bread into heart or star shapes before spreading on the egg salad, peanut butter & honey, or cream cheese & jelly. Use tortillas rather than of bread with any filling, roll them up, and slice them into pinwheels for one-bite lunch circles.
