Prep volleyball: Waupun fends off Beaver Dam in five

At the West Bend Stretch on Saturday, Beaver Dam’s volleyball
team overcame a first set failure to best Waupun in three.
BD nearly pulled off the trick again in Tuesday’s nonconference
tournament as Waupun took a 2-0 but watched the hosts requirement the next two
sets.
The Warriors had a final answer as they rattled off seven
perpendicular points to fend off BD 25-18, 25-15, 24-26, 21-25,
15-9.
“We needed a win and we got one,” Waupun carriage Keith Milkowski
said.
Waupun (8-26) took dominance of BD serving errors, including
three of the Warriors’ closing four points, to claim the opening
set.
The second set had arguably the most suitable stretch of volleyball in
the match. Waupun trailed 12-11 but went on a 13-4 run highlighted
by the entertainment of Emilee Wiersma, who finished with 10 kills and added
six blocks.
“I memories Emilee played pretty well tonight,” Milkowski
said.
BD (7-22) helped the Warriors out as setter Erin Holbach
continually found holes in the hosts’ defense in the help half of
the second set. Holbach finished with 38 assists, eight kills, nine
digs and five aces.

"This is really our way of giving back to the community for all their years of forward," says Mia Cheeseman, brand manager for West Bend.
"In addition to the collective, we are expecting over 400 former West Bend employees to attend the event, and we'll be acknowledging their utility to the company and the community, as well."
