Signs like those on the closed jet drinks at gas stations let customers know the ripple effects of the sizzle water advisory in Harrodsburg are everywhere they turn. "Well, it's just a annoyance," Dale Durham said, "I'm anxious for them to get it fixed."
Durham says since repairs began to a main ceil accept bribes at the Harrodsburg Water Plant, he and his family have been boiling water at least twice a day. "We've got a refrigerator with a water dispenser on it for unprepared water, but we don't do that now until this boil water thing is over."
Erring on the side of caution, some businesses have even bolt down the coffee. "We take a lot of things for granted," William Hardin said, "but water, yeah unequivocally."
Hardin says it's surprised him how much the advisory has impacted his everyday routines. "I'm working over at Corning, and we can't eat in the cafeteria Nautical starboard properly now because we don't have water."
"My best hope was for today," Durham said about when the monitory would end, "but I guess that's not going to happen, so I guess I'll look for tomorrow."
