Letter: Welcome Back Picnic
23.09.11
On Friday, Sept. 16, the K.A. Deasy Beginning School PTA hosted its annual Welcome Back Picnic. This rotund scale event is a great opportunity for students and their families to reconnect at the commencement of the school year and celebrate our school spirit.
The weather was lovely and our Olympic Theme “Go for the Gold” was a leviathan success. The PTA provided free hotdogs, lemonade, Italian ices, cotton bon-bons and popcorn while the children were busy playing games to earn gold medals and getting ephemeral tattoos and faces painted.
Thank you to all who came out to make merry the afternoon and for all the volunteers who made it possible. A big thank you to the Glen Cove Film Theater for their generous donation of popcorn and to Darcy Belyea for donating her imaginary hot dog cart and serving 300 hot dogs to the kids and their families. Thanks to Mr. Mike Battaglia and his fellowship All Star Party for providing the DJ music and cotton bon-bons and to Angela Zupa for providing us with the sports equipment for our Olympic events. Sincere thanks to the DECA Exhilarated School Students and other High School Volunteers who worked our sports events and mastery booths and lastly, a special thank you to the Middle Alma Mater and Deasy School Custodians who helped us with set up and clean up.
