GE vs. Jenn Air cooking appliances?

We are in the process of getting new appliances for our kitchen, and we don't know whether to get GE or Jenn air. We are getting a ceramic cooktop, double ovens and range hood. I think GE is reliable, but sometimes has that "mass produced" feel in their profile series. I have no experience with JennAir (is it by Maytag?) but I want to keep my options open. Anyone have experience with either/both/other appliance companies that they can share? Also, anyone have any suggestions on range hoods. I want one that is affordable, easy to clean, powerful (we do a lot of cooking) and preferably quiet. Any suggestions?

You are correct in saying that a g.e. is reliable to an extent. Jenn air are not as reliable and you will find them more expensive both to purchase and for parts which you almost certainly will need. No it is not built by Maytag. I recommend the G.E. for initial cost and for reliability. As for the hood fan get the best one you can afford. Brand doesn't matter much because it is only the fan motor that is inside and the filter.. If it is well insulated the noise will be lessened and this come with quality.

Inner 2 burners not working - Appliance Repair Forum

Hello, recently the 2 inner burners of my 3 burner cook top stopped working. I can set the selector knob to 6" or 9" and nothing works, although the light displays saying it should be working. When I switch it to 12", however, only the outer ring turns on. I am not sure if this is the selector switch, control or burner itself. Any ideas or how I should go about checking this?
