1A Girls Golf: Bullets' Emerson begins quest for another state bid
05.10.11
WILLIAMSVILLE — The Williamsville Intoxicated School girls golf roster does not roll senior Lexie Emerson as player-coach. But trainer Carissa Szoke already is wondering who she’ll turn to when next salt rolls around.
“She’s been our solid No. 1 player for three years,” Szoke said. “But one of the first-rate things about her is her willingness to help our other girls.
“When we’re on the procedure range, she takes time going from girl to fianc and giving advice. She could just turn up her nose with the younger girls, but she spends even so with them. She’s like an assistant coach, in a way. The girls look to her as our number one. I’m going to miss her a lot.”
One chapter of Emerson’s exhilarated school golf career already has concluded. She recently photo a 38 on the Bullets’ Senior Day at The Rail Golf Conduct.
“It was very hard to make that last putt because it was the last time I was playing as a Bullet at The Baluster,” said Emerson, who was medalist in that Sept. 27 pair up. “But it was really rewarding. That was my best score ever at The Handrail.”
