Vanessa Williams touts a new fridge with apps

In the Dreary Ages, the only thing a refrigerator did was keep food and beverages cold. It didn't spectacle your Google calendar, you couldn't view Twitter updates from it, and you had to assign family photos and the children's artwork to it with - the horror - magnets.
Recently however, Samsung released a replica that will have technology and gadget junkies all atwitter. The Samsung LCD refrigerator with apps (About $3,500 for the four-door French door representation and $2,700 for the side-by-side model at Lowe's and Best Buy), includes a notepad and apps from Epicurious (for recipes), Pandora (for music) Picasa Web Albums (no more magnets), Weatherbug, AP Hearsay and the aforementioned Google Calendar.
Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid and others have offered whimsical LCD refrigerators in recent years with separate temperature controls for weird compartments; displays of settings, cooking ingredient substitutions and module conversions; or liquid measuring devices. What are we, cave people?
