Dewey to get recycle drop-off sites
04.10.11
DEWEY, Okla. - Dewey residents will swiftly be able to recycle, thanks to efforts by the Washington County OSU Augmentation office and Dewey city officials.
Dewey Metropolis Manager Kevin Trease during Monday evening's borough council meeting said recycling drop-off bins for legal papers will soon be appearing at locations around the city.
He told 2Talk Tuesday morning that after he had been approached by a number of community members asking for ways to recycle post and other recyclable materials, he learned from Washington County OSU Magnitude Educator Gale Mills that plans were already underway to setting three recycling bins in Dewey.
Contacted by 2News, Mills said the bins should be arriving any day. One will be placed at Marvin's Scoff Saver grocery at N. Osage Ave. and 16th St., another at near the OSU Extension Charge at 205 E 12th St. and the last near the Dewey Public Schools Precinct administration building at 1 Bulldogger Rd. in Dewey.
The proceeds received for typescript items submitted at the Marvin's and OSU sites will go toward the local 4-H billy. Paper dropped off at the Dewey schools site will servants fund the school district, said Gale.
