Brewers' duo of Fielder, Braun could be at end of run
06.10.11
Deliberate over:
•Braun is from California, living next door to former NBA star Reggie Miller , but went to college in Miami. Fielder was born in California, but grew up in Florida, and lives in a new house in Orlando.
"He almost came to the University of Miami , too," Braun says. "Can you suspect Prince with a metal bat? Scary."
•Fielder's arms and neck are filled with tattoos; Braun doesn't have the taste for to have one.
"I'm not necessarily opposed to it," Braun said, "but it has to be meaningful to me. I'm not going to do it honourable to be trendy or tough."
•Fielder is married with two kids; Braun is apart with a girlfriend of two years, and has no kids.
"They're my support system," Fielder says. "They represent everything to me."
•Fielder's father, Cecil, was once one of the major league's most marvellous sluggers, hitting 51 home runs for the Detroit Tigers in 1990. Braun's author, Joe, is a former insurance claims worker, and never even homered in Little Unite.

Former Huntsville players Cruz, Braun and others having enormous impact in MLB ...
11.10.11
See, I testify one of the many drawbacks to the Huntsville Stars' success has been how many fans are stuck in the history, clinging to the days when they saw Canseco play for the Stars, or rumour has it remember Mark McGwire being here (even though he played fewer than 30 games at Joe Davis Amphitheatre). They've missed or ignored great players since then.
The current foremost league playoffs are full of former Stars doing great things, mostly guys who played in reliant on anonymity once the apathy toward the franchise began to grow the former 10 years.
I am hardly a baseball scout. I have some eye for power, but not as refined as the guys who are paid to do so. Besides, even an amateur might have said this:
The excellent prospect I've seen in a Huntsville uniform since I saw Canseco in 1985 was an outfielder named Nelson Cruz. The supporter-best was a third baseman named Ryan Braun.
Cruz, who played for the Stars in 2005, showed an awesome throwing arm, great power potential and was already a well-developed hitter. Then the Brewers traded him to the Rangers, along with Carlos Lee, for Coco Cordero, Julian Cordero, Kevin Mench, and Laynce Nix. How's that one worked out?
