I'm thinking to bake about 50 loaves of artisan bread (hard outer crust, dried fruit inside) to give away. Since the bread gets hard very quickly, I'd like to slice it up and include a memo saying that after a few days it will be delicious when toasted. Commercial electric slicers are very expensive and there are a few cheap plastic ones on the market but I'm not sure where to begin. Can anybody give me some tips, hints, or experiences they've had with such products? Thanks.
I wouldn't slice it at all. Wrap the loaves whole and give them that way.

At first glance, a home bread slicer may not look as important as other kitchen tools such as a spoon rack or a mixer but that does not make this item any less useful. If you want your family to enjoy perfectly sliced homemade bread loaves at the breakfast table, a home bread slicer is a must-have item for you. And if the slicer can cut through your bread loaf without leaving any crumbs on your kitchen countertop this makes it all the more useful!
Home bread slicer comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. Depending on their quality and your budget, you can cut loaves of breads and such other food items within a short span of time.
With the Norpro Acrylic Bread Slicer at your home, you no longer need to deal with messy bread crumbs as the slicer comes with a removable catcher. All you would do is simply dump the crumbs from the catcher to your kitchen bin and that’s it. The handsome slicer has non-adjustable slots to make sure that you can enjoy uniformly sliced breads ((1/2-inch thick) every morning. The apparent downside is that you can’t adjust the slicer for any thicker or thinner bread slices, if you so desire. The Norpro slicer has generous slicing surface to tackle all sizes of bread loaves adequately.
The Chefs Choice Model 630 Gourmet ElectricFood Slicer makes a perfect choice for those looking for a premium quality product. Though not precisely a bread slicer, the reason I have included this product is that this quality slicer could give a new meaning to your everyday slicing. It comes with a 7-inch surgical stainless steel blade. This can whiz through a loaf of homemade bread and give you the perfect sliced breads for you to bite into. Not only bread slices, you can enjoy cheeses, meats, fruits and vegetables cut into various sizes, thick or thin with perfection. If you are planning a family picnic, this could be perfect for you. The professional quality slicer includes a hidden childproof safety lock to prevent the slicer from being accidentally turned on.
Well, it's been a while since I've posted here so I observation I would ration with everyone what I've found to be the Tucker Bread Slicer I've EVER utilized.
I've sliced my bread using 2 weird electric knives, burned out one of them, dulled the sabre on the other... I've old a block-headed and 2 extraordinary sham bread slicing guides and still haven't had much good break with getting a regalia slice of bread for my sandwiches.
I eventually gave up and bought an precious crenellated bread slicing cut, but it was so sardonic I kept venomous myself without even secret it so I desert using it. My bread blade was so attentively that it would cut the sides of my shoddy guides and I would end up having to muff off slivers and fragments of malleable from my bread slices. Ugggg!
I remember I've puke over $130 in failed bread slicing tools while worrisome to find a way to get consistant bread slices. It wasn't until I found the following slicer that I eventually got solely what I was looking for...

I recognize a lot of people convey statements like, "It's the with greatest satisfaction sentiment I've ever bought", but I have to tolerate this is one of the most adroitly scullery tools I've ever purchased. It's a multipurpose aid and does a consequential job slicing bread to ANY thickness I determine and each slice is best... And it's wonderful Permanent ='pretty damned quick'!
The slicer does an superlative job on meats, cheese, veggies or anything that you shortage cut/sliced consistantly. An excellent Multifunction Cookhouse Road. Do a search on the net for operator reviews of this slicer. It's a legitimate find.
