Al-Qaeda's terror alert does not specify target

Significant Intelligence agencies have alerted the state police and other authorities of a realizable terror attack at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Cosmopolitan Airport.
The alert does not specifically say about a particular situation to be attacked and thus all airstrips and helipads are under threat and security has been beefed up at the airport and -away areas.
According to Union Home Ministry sources, the destruction according to intelligence agencies could be an airborne one and small aircraft and helicopters could be employed for the attack.
Other than the police and security agencies, authorities manning air traffic have also been told to keep a surveillance on the movement of small aircraft and helicopters.
On September 10, the mate commissioner of police, Santa Cruz division, wrote to the Juhu airstrip authorities asking them not to consent to joyrides on choppers on September 11 and September 12. He told them not to approve flying of aircraft over immersion sites.

Harvest for the Hungry to help fill food bank shelves

Between Sept. 28 and the end of October, the two groups are asking businesses and residents to communicate together and help gather 12 tons of food - enough to nourish more than 2,000 hungry people.
Elizabeth Crawford Thurber, administrator director of the Fredericton Food Bank, said like last year, the without delay at the Fredericton Food Bank has increased in 2011 making Get for the Hungry more important than ever.
"This event is really a kick off to the down-swing season," she said.
"It helps us bring in some things we simply can't keep in stock."
Crawford Thurber said the rations bank broke records this year in terms of how many people it has helped.
"In Parade, we sent out more boxes than we ever have and then we topped that number again in June," she said.
In Parade, the food bank helped 984 families or 2,309 individuals. That digit jumped to 993 families - or 2,425 individuals - in June.
Crawford Thurber said although people like to introduce in donations closer to Christmas, the fall food sink is important because summer tends to leave the shelves depleted.
