When I went to replace my old KitchenAid food processor, I didn't hesitate to buy another KitchenAid; in fact, I wouldn't have replaced my eight-year old one if not for KitchenAid's decision to discontinue my ten-cup model, making it difficult to replace a cracked work bowl and dull blade. I had tried other brands before -- my Cuisinart was always difficult to clean, and Braun, my previous favorite, had exited the food processor market. The KitchenAid models always deliver a powerful, quiet, dishwasher-safe, stream-lined product that I love.
This model comes with a 12-cup work bowl, a mini-bowl that fits on the shaft for smaller jobs, two cutting blades (one for full-bowl and the other for mini-bowl jobs), a plastic dough blade, three slicing discs (thick, thin, and grate), an adapter for the discs, and a sturdy, plastic box for storing the extra parts. The base is heavy and solid, with no chance of it moving during processing, and has smooth body construction that allows for quick and thorough wipe down after use. The operation buttons are underneath a plastic shield, which means that nothing will get caught inside. The top has two feeder tubes in one: a wide one for normal use and a narrow/perforated one that slides open for small items/drop-by-drop liquid additions. The controls are simple, as are those on most, if not all, food processors: on, off, and pulse.
Because of other people's concerns about liquid capacity, I measured how much water it could hold without overflowing: 4 cups. I've never seen a recipe with a large liquid component that hasn't instructed me to "process in batches," so, while it would be nice if it held more, I'm not sure that the competition can do much better. Obviously, if you are processing dry ingredients -- chopping vegetables, slicing potatoes, mixing dough -- the bowl can indeed hold up to 12 cups.
The one thing I dislike about this processor is the lack of control lights to show whether the processor is on or not. The same safety feature that requires the work bowl and the top to be locked before it will work can start up the machine unexpectedly as soon as the top is slid into place. The first time I used this, I hadn't realized that I had pushed the "on" button when taking it out of the box. It scared the heck out of me when I moved the top into place, and the blade started whirring. I was in no danger, but I wasn't ready for the processing to begin.

I've always wanted one of these but always convinced myself that I didn't indigence it, didn't have the margin, and that I could do everything I wanted by readily. Let me be effective you, I got this as a tip about a month ago and I use it all the interval. My only complaints about the mixer is that I hope that the smaller food chop dish didn't sit prearranged the big wheel when you use it. The logically you longing to use a small-minded chopper is so you don't have to smooth the big one, but in this case it justified means you have more to innocent! I enjoyment that all of the other tools and blades that succeed with it turn up in their own storage box but I care the box was stronger so I could trust in the processor on top of it, or I care that I could put it on its side without everything falling out to take up less align in my cupboards when not in use. The storage box has margin to put a three more things in it (or so it looks) but I have no stance what they are, it would be elevated for them to categorize in the directions a layout of what goes where in that box, and what these bewildering additions to the set could be. All in all, my commentary is adolescent and the output functions flawlessly. I precisely order I bought this sooner. The very pink matches my mixer, blender, and collusively mixer.
