Storjohann, Miller lead area teams at Nevada

NEVADA - Acreage runners picked up medalist honors on both sides of the Presence B competition at the Nevada Cub Cross Country Invitational on a rainy Monday evening at Hickory Grove Woodland.
Levi Storjohann led the Class 1A No. 4-ranked BCLUW boys to the pair title with his medalist finish, while the 2A No. 15 East Marshall girls got a encouragement into second place by Paige Miller's overall mastery in 15:52.
Storjohann clocked in at 16 minutes, 45 seconds to consummate ahead of East Marshall's Lance Steward (17:12).
West Marshall, which came in inferior merchandise, was paced by Nathan Bradley's fourth-place end result in 17:18. BCLUW's Derek Coulter was next across in fifth (17:18).

ROCKFORD — Flaw Johnson has one goal right now for his football
team.
The sixth-year Rockford instruct wants to claim the Class A,
District 3 title.
“We dire to keep our focus and do the things we need to do,”
Johnson said. “If we arrest mentally focused, good things will come
out of that.”
No. 8 Newman Inclusive (5-1 overall) leads the district with a
3-0 chip.
Rockford (4-2 overall) is a half-game back with a 2-0 region
record.
The Warriors have won four straight contests after starting the
salt with losses to Nashua-Plainfield and North Iowa.
“We had a few injuries at the dawn of the season,” Johnson
said. “One of our impudent lineman (Jack Rooney) was out and we
finally got him back in the third game.
“When Jack came back, everyone worked more wisely together. It seemed
to lift everybody’s spirits.”
Rockford topped Colo-NESCO 26-7 Friday edge of night for its fourth
straight win.
The Warriors received 190 yards rushing and one touchdown from
Travis Johnson.
