Despite its somewhat flimsy appearance this jerky gun works great. I pushed 40lb of venison ground meat through this gun with ease. Meat was well shaped into strips or rolls, depending on the attachment. I didn’t run into any of the difficulties some other reviewers had described. May be it worked better for me because venison is exceptionally lean or because I ground the meat myself using smallest available plate

My husband loves beef jerky and was extremely excited when he found out my Nesco dehydrator could make it. We bought this jerky kit and it was so simple and easy to use! We bought 2 lbs of 97% lean ground beef, used some of the given seasonings and some of our own, and made our own beef jerky. The gun worked perfectly and it fit 1 lb of meat in it at a time. My husband had fun trying out all the different tips and each one was easy to use. The jerky gun and accessories were easy to take apart and clean. After making the jerky, my husband said it was probably the best jerky he had ever had – and cheap! I highly recommend this product as it is easy to use and you can make any type of jerky you wish with your own personal prefference on flavor.
